The Emerald Rose

 The mighty Aircraft Carrier you see is my old ship, pix is from 1967 (When I was aboard, about ten stories up the “Island” on board. Keel was laid in 1942 during WWII, and I was on her when we rode it out of commission in 1967. Unfortunately no one wanted her so she was sold for scrap shortly after, but a nobel ship she was, her motto was “the fightingest ship in the Navy” CVS-9 U.S.S. Essex (a lot of memories there)
