“Odds ‘n ends day,….ho hum.”

Just like the Beatles once said,…”woke up,… got out of bed” yea! Then realized I had to get my car to the mechanic this morning. Seems like it (the car) likes to “kick it up a notch”, and the throttle mechanism sometimes decides it likes going faster and when I take my foot off the gas to slow down for the light, a pedestrian, a cute little dog, or a dodgy old senior,…..well the car simply says…F*** it, and keeps going. Thought that might get me in a bit of a bind so off to the mechanic I go, then of course decided to change the oil (you get that little notion when the guy at the gas station says something like,…”You’re down  about three or four quarts there’s nothin’ to measure here.”)

Then I was heading home and the wife calls and the arm of her glasses “fell off”, you know the part that goes over your ear and keeps ’em in place. BUT being the carpenter’s daughter she called to ask me to get a little tube of “Superglue” on the way home. I on the other hand insisted that I simply take them back to Walmart where she bought them and I’d have them fix the glasses properly, (which I just did and they did and the price was $0.00 so the warantee still holds) OMG,….did I just say that? Sounded lie an “old fart” comment, even worrying about a warantee on a pair of glasses that are over a year old. WOW (shudder),….I gotta knock that shit off,…sorry. 😦

So while they were fixing the glasses I went shopping, last Saturday I had asked my wife to look for a couple of those “wick-off” type shirts to workout in that let your sweat just kind of wick away as opposed to making you look like a model for an under-achieving paper towel. (Women want to see a little sweat at the gym,…but PLUEEZE, not a macho guy dressed to look like a wet towel. A trace of perspiration, a glisten of sweat on your brow and muscles, that is good,….a wet ratty looking cat? That is a big Baddy.

Long story short she got a couple and I wore one yesterday it was a shortsleeve tee shirt style and felt great, so I went to see if they had any more. They had them marked down to $3 each, so I scooped a couple because you can just wear ’em around casual with a pair of kakai shorts and some Birkies and look just as cool.

Not even half way through the month and I got 70 miles under my belt already. I’m gonna have to back off the distance endurance and work on the chest and arms and the Abs a lot more, I’ve been getting carried away with the endurnace thing too much. (Besides I’m not going back to the Cardiologist until late February and the week beofre he wants me to go get an EKG to see how much I’ve been able to build back up in heart musculature and conditioning. Besides Arnold Schwarteneger is getting a little long in the tooth and his plastic surguery options have run out, soooo there might be an opening there soon and I want to be ready. I got the “I’ll be back” down pat now.

Met a couple of women from Brazil yesterday at the Pub, they own a condo here and vacation here several times a year. Casually mentioned the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 and she said they would be up here to get away from the mobs then so I asked her to think about letting me and a half dozen of my friends use her place if it was close to the stadiums. She said it is and she would get back to me in a few days , she just wanted to be sure they would be here.

Gotta go, lunch, the mail and the gym,…..then “The Pub”  😉 😉
